Great News!  The YMCA will provide child care for the children of parents who are attending this year's 2017 Gala for HOPE!  Parents can drop off their children ages 4-12 for a night of fun that includes games, crafts, and a movie.  You may even bring a sleeping bag, pillow, and PJ's for movie time.  The YMCA will provide dinner:  pizza, chips, cookies and drinks.  Registration is required by March 31, 2017.  Cost is $10.00 per child!  Registration is available at the Member Services Desk at any branch of the YMCA of Centre County.

Thank you so much to everyone who so generously gave their time, talents and monetary donations to make Christmas of HOPE a success this year.  We were able to provide Christmas to 96 children of limited means and because of all of you, they now have the coats, hats, gloves, boots, shoes, and clothing they need and a few non clothing items which brought many smiles to their faces on Christmas morning!  They also have warm hand made blankets that were donated by St.

The HOPE Fund would sincerely like to thank all of our supporters who generously donated toward our mission through Centre Gives 2016!  Because of all of you, we raised $23,502, a record breaker for the HOPE Fund!  Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us to Help Your Neighbors in Need in Penns Valley!

Christmas of HOPE is an off-shoot of the charity the HOPE Fund of Penns Valley.  The HOPE Fund was started because we saw a great need in our community to help residents faced with medical or personal disasters.

At Christmas time, we wanted to be able to help the families assisted by the HOPE Fund even more by providing Christmas for their children. Because the HOPE Fund is funded completely through donations, and because those donations are designated for families in need facing dire health situations or other tragedies, there needed to be a very definite separation between the HOPE Fund and Christmas of HOPE. Therefore, Christmas of HOPE is recognized as its own entity.

Christmas of HOPE takes referrals from guidance counselors at our local schools as well as church pastors and the outreach committee from the HOPE Fund.  Businesses and community members have generously stepped forward to sponsor children by donating money, gifts, and their time to provide Christmas for local children. In 2016, we served over 96 children of limited means through Christmas of HOPE.

This program has grown tremendously since its inception.  This is our seventh year now and it is only been possible because of the support of the entire community.

We are about providing for the needs of the children sponsored as well as some of the "wants".  What we ask of our sponsors is very simple, but immensely rewarding. We give you information on a child. This will include the age, sex, sizes, needs and interest of the child. The form will not tell you a name, but for confidentiality sake, it will have a code. You and your family, team or co-workers will have time to shop for items on your list. If you volunteer to sponsor a child, the information you need for shopping will be given to you immediately along with other information and directions on what to do next.

Each child we serve also receives a new pillow case filled with miscellaneous supplies such as pencils, crayons, markers, school supplies, shampoo, body wash, tooth paste and tooth brush as well as a Faith based Christmas present.

All children that we serve are residents of the Penns Valley Area School District.  We are so blessed to be part of this community and to have so many generous people, businesses and churches help support this cause.  If you would like to consider sponsoring a child next year for Christmas or would like more information, you can email hopefundchristmas@gmail.com.  If you would like to make a monetary donation, checks can be made out to Christmas of HOPE and mailed to The HOPE Fund of Penns Valley, PO Box 427, Centre Hall, PA 16828.

Thank you for helping to brighten Christmas for our Penns Valley youth!

The HOPE Fund is a Christian based, non-denominational, non-profit organization dedicated to helping other people everyday.

1. The purpose of the HOPE fund is to financially assist residents of the Penns Valley Area School District with a medical crisis or a personal disaster

2. The HOPE Fund started in response to the caring and generous support of people in the valley

3. Tragedies unfortunately happen everyday. The HOPE Fund wants to have contingency funds available so we can act swiftly when these situations arise.

We are a 100% volunteer run 501c3 Corporation.  With the administrative, fundraising, customer service and event related activities within a year's time, it takes over 240 volunteers to make the HOPE Fund run efficiently.  ALL of the money that we raise STAYS in Penns Valley to help those in need.  It is the belief of THE HOPE FUND that people are likely to recover faster when not faced with financial burden.  We have assisted stroke victims, cancer patients, heart attack victims, accident victims and those displaced by house fires.  Some more specific examples of residents we have helped are noted in our Mission
